A Love Letter to Vancouver

Dollar pizza and Subway
not the train where you commute
but Subway where you get sandwiches
around the corner

Granville Island and Gastown
a faint memory
yet I miss them dearly
not as much as I miss Stanley Park

A park half-explored
where I only see so little of it
Where squirrels hide their food
under the grass
as if they remember where to find it

People have no worries
but what to do for the day
Birds chirp and fly around
the park and from one tree to the other

Swans and ducks explore
between the lake and grass
wondering what people do in the park
People think the same
when they think of swans and ducks
